Air in the hydraulic system

Occasionally air in a hydraulic tool prevents it from working at full capability. The question is: how does the air get into the system? Please note the following: • After the hydraulic power unit's tank has been fully emptied and then refilled, the tank must be bled. • New hoses must be filled with oil before use. The same applies after hose testing. • If the nipples on the tool are replaced in-house, it is essential that whoever does so has first been instructed in bleeding the tool: when the fitted nipple is removed, the oil drains out and the oil chamber fills with air.

This note applies to all ipr tools.
